A video shared by a media personality, Leticia Danso has highlighted the plights and frustrations residents and commuters of the Tema-Aflao road and Dawhenya go through daily before they get to their destinations, highlighting how it is affecting productivity.
According to her, the traffic congestion on the road which is caused by a stall in road construction on the Tema-Aflao road has indirectly caused people to lose their jobs and other several negative effects because, the road which connects to Accra within an hour drive now takes over four hours to navigate it. This she explained that, is gradually contributing to low productivity in organizations that the commuters work in.
She added that, when it rains then situation on the road worsens, the vehicular traffic and congestion alone can take about five hours for a journey which is ordinarily not up to an hour. She mentioned how school children are undergoing frustrations and its adverse effect it is having on their studies due to the lateness the traffic causes them.
She detailed how the Construction Company after halting their works have left their excavators and other heavy machines on the road. She mentioned that, their joy of having an easy journey after the road construction began has turned sour because of the halt in construction. She called on the authorities to attend to the road in order to save people from frustrations and also to avert the continuous low productivity.
