Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) leader Akua Donkor has vowed to abolish electricity bills for all citizens if she is elected as the next president. Speaking on Kasapa FM’s Ghana Kasa Show, she laid out her bold plan to make electricity a free utility nationwide.
Madam Donkor’s proposal centers on utilizing Ghana’s own resources to lower energy costs. She explained that, under her leadership, the country would produce petrol locally, which would make energy production more affordable. This, in turn, would enable her government to provide free electricity to every household.
“Once we produce our own petrol here in Ghana, it will drastically reduce energy costs. My goal is to make sure that no Ghanaian pays for electricity during my tenure,” she stated confidently.
The GFP leader also emphasized the importance of energy independence as part of her plan for economic growth. By tapping into local resources, she believes that Ghana can not only achieve energy self-sufficiency but also ease the financial burden on its citizens.
Akua Donkor’s promise of free electricity is aimed at reducing the cost of living and providing economic relief to households across the country, positioning her as an advocate for affordable living standards for all Ghanaians.
