A 99-year-old ex-Warrant Officer 1 Joseph Hammond has revealed that the army is still in his blood.
According to the former WO1, if there is a war in Ghana, Ghanaians should just throw him a gun he is ready to fight.
Speaking to renowned broadcaster Kafui Dey he stated, “It is very interesting, honestly for me the army is in my blood, right now I’m 99 but when there is a war in Ghana you throw me the gun and finish that is all I will fight, I will fight because it is in the blood”.
He further revealed Burma Camp used to be called differently, saying, “You see, so, you know, I used to see the soldiers, and the camp was not Burma camp it was Giffard camp named after General Giffard”.
The former Warrant Officer 1 Joseph Hammond fought in World War Two as a Teenager.
