Family of gospel singer Mawuko Adjola confirms death as police investigate suspected suicide

The family of gospel singer Mawuko Adjola, known as Jake or Jacob Yaw Mawulo Adjola, has confirmed his death, prompting police to investigate the circumstances surrounding a suspected suicide.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the family urged the public to be mindful when sharing details about his passing, particularly regarding the suspected suicide.

The news of the young music minister’s death, who was a member of the non-denominational music group Higher Praise Inc, began circulating on social media on Monday morning.

In a post on Facebook, the group confirmed his death with the caption,  “Jake sings with the angels now”.

In a statement from Susan Adjola, the sister of the deceased, it was noted that police investigations into the death have begun. She urged the public not to hinder the investigations with unsolicited information.

“The Police is currently investigating the matter, both the alleged letter and the accident, and we plead with you all to allow the instigations to take it due course” parts of the statement read.
