Nana Akomea, the Managing Director of the State Transport Company, has said he is yet to hear of any news on food poisoning regarding the expired rice saga.
The former Minister of Information and Communications Director of the NPP mentioned that, it is quiet surprising that amidst the widespread of the expired rice saga, there hasn’t been any news of death or food poisoning by head teachers or even students who have consumed the rice.
The NDC led by the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa revealed how a company belonging to the boss of the National Buffer Stock, repackage expired rice and supply to the senior high schools for consumption. They called for the arrest of all those involved after investigations are carried out.
According to Nana Akomea, the alleged students who are believed to have consumed the said expired rice are out of Senior High school and possibly in the University by now. He expressed certainty that, whatever the issue might be, investigations will bring them out but what appeared to him constantly as a surprise was how no news or information on food poisoning have been reported even in the media.
