The weight of economic hardship waves in heavily as traders are lament the cost of goods in the market. Vendors shout their daily deals, but beneath the surface, desperation kicks in.
The escalating cost of living has become an all-consuming concern for many, leaving citizens questioning the NPP government’s ability to provide relief.
One trader who is also a mother expresses her struggle to make ends meet: “Even the people living in Russia and Ukraine are eating,” she says, frustration evident in her tone.”How can that be the excuse for our hardships?”
Her frustration derives from the Akuffo Addo led government attributing the economic hardships to external factors, citing global events like the pandemic and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
‘’Now we can’t even buy enough to cook at home, four small yams go for GH 500, which cannot even feed the family’’
