Ghanaian actress Efia Odo has publicly slammed independent presidential candidate Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Cheddar, for his recent remarks about the Democracy Hub protesters.
On September 25, 2024, Bediako took to X to express his views on the ongoing #FreeTheCitizens campaign, which advocates for the release of individuals arrested during the Democracy Hub protest at the 37 Roundabout on September 22, 2024.
In a video, he emphasized the importance of peaceful protests while accusing the Democracy Hub protesters of engaging in violent activities during their demonstrations.
Mr. Bediako further questioned the motives of the protesters, alleging that they were funded by one of Ghana’s major political parties to serve certain selfish interests.
In response, Efia Odo remarked, “Wow, Cheddar, you really have the nerve to say that Fix the Country was organized by a political party? I see. We’ve had peaceful protests for decades where has that gotten us?”
I stand by my words. Peace over violence. pic.twitter.com/LPSQTaQWx9
