British pop star, Ed Sheeran has issued an apology to Manchester United boss, Ruben Amorim for gatecrashing his interview after their draw with Ipswich Town on Sunday (24th November, 2024).
“Apologies if I offended Amorim yesterday, didn’t actually realise he was being interviewed at the time, was popping to say hi and bye to Jamie. Obvz feel a bit of a bellend but life goes on. Great game though, congrats on all involved x,” he posted on his Instagram story.
Manchester United fans descended heavily on musician Ed Sheeran for disrupting Ruben Amorim’s post match interview following their draw with Ipswich town.
Ed Sheeran, a die hard fan of Ipswich Town was at the stadium during their 1:1 draw with Manchester United.
During Ruben Amorim’s his interview after the match with Sky Sports about his introduction to the Premier League, despite joking he was “the smiling one” before the match, he did not look best pleased when the singing phenomenon interrupted his interview with the broadcaster.
Some fans claimed he (Ruben Amorim) looked “p***ed off”, while others called the 33-year-old (Ed Sheeran) a “disrespectful clown” for his actions.
Amorim is now preparing for his first Europa League game in charge of the Red Devils as Bodo/Glimt are the visitors at Old Trafford on Thursday.
As for Ipswich, Sunday’s point keeps them in the bottom three of the Premier League but the club, and Sheeran, will be hoping they can stay in the top flight following their promotion last season.
