A member of the Dance With Purpose, a Vibrant Ghanaian dance academy, has been fingered in an alleged fraudulent case for taking registration and monthly fees from parents and dance enthusiasts.
A video shared by the dance group captured a leading member of the academy explaining to viewers and fans on how they need to be careful if someone approaches them to pay a registration fee and monthly dues to join the group. She mentioned that, the group only accepts walk in fee of GH₵80 and not registration fee. She added that anytime you walk in to train or rehearse with them you only pay that amount.
She mentioned how one member who has been in the group, though not a leading face for two years have used the name of the academy to defraud parents who are desperate that their wards join the group. She said an amount over GH₵10,000 has so far according to reports have been taken up by the lady for registration and monthly renewal fees.
She further cautioned the public, parents and dance enthusiasts to contact the dance group or visit them at their training and rehearsal center if they are being approached by any dancer or anyone under the pretense of the DWP to demand registration fee and monthly payments from them.
