Some supporters of Bishop Salifu’s Family assaulted journalists and Police Officers at the court hearing yesterday.
Bishop Salifu Amoako and Mouha Amoako, the parents of Elrad Amoako, whose actions led to a crash that resulted in the deaths of two individuals in East Legon appeared before the Accra Circuit Court yesterday 16 October 2024.
The media was at the Accra Circuit Court to give their usual coverage of proceedings when the supporters confronted them about their coverage as the parents of the minor appeared before the Accra Circuit court.
A near brawl would have occurred but for the intervention of some security men at the court.
The supporters were believed to be members of Alive Chapel International, protesting their overseer’s arrest.
According to the Ghana Police Service statement, Elrad was driving a Jaguar SUV crashed into a 4×4 Acura vehicle driven by Joseph Ackah with four occupants.
The collision caused both vehicles to catch fire, flaming beyond recognition.
The Service picked up Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako and Mouha Amoako, parents of the suspect driver involved in the fatal accident.
Bishop Salifu Amoako and Mouha Amoako were charged with allowing an unlicensed person to drive but pleaded not guilty to the crime and have both since been granted bail of GHc 50,000.
