The Democracy Hub says the Ghana Police attempts to rubbish their peaceful demonstration by describing their actions as ‘Un-Ghanaian is not only “disrespectful”, but an attempt at infringing upon their rights.
In a press statement issued on Sunday, September 22, to address claims of destruction of property and
obstructing of free flowing traffic amongst a host of other allegegations, leaders of the Democracy Hub emphasised that their actions in no way broke any laws.
The group denied allegations of blocking traffic, setting fires in the streets, or harassing road users.
Democracy Hub rather accused the police of joining forces with groups affiliated to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government to attack peaceful protesters.
