The Chief executive officer of the National Entrepreneurship Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah has responded to Alan Kyerematen’s criticism of former President John Agyekum Kufuor’s endorsement of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
According to him, it does not really matter where the Former President knows Dr. Bawumia from, but what is at the center of discussion should be the competencies of the endorsed candidate. In a facebook post, Mr. Ofosu Nkansah mentioned that, for someone who thought he should have come before Kufuor, he would obviously have issues with Bawumia overtaking him.
Mr. Ofosu Nkansah suggested that Kyerematen’s statements were driven more by personal grievances than by a fair political assessment. He urged Kyerematen to focus on pertinent issues rather than venting frustrations towards individuals within the NPP. He queried if the source of President Kufuor’s knowledge of Bawumia really mattered to the discussion and also mattered to Alan Kyerematen.
He further expressed shock at the way Alan Kyerematen seem not be okay with President Kufuor’s endorsement. He called out his senior and former Party founding member to eschew every bitterness and concentrate on his campaigns and messages.
