Dennis Asare, a Senior Research Associate at Imani Africa, has revealed that the NPP manifesto for the 2024 elections has 574 promises.
According to Dennis Asare, the NPP 2024 manifesto has even more vague promises than the measurable ones.
Speaking on Imani Africa Critical Analysis of Political Party Manifestos 2024, the Senior Research Associate detailed, “So, if you take the New Patriotic Party (NPP) alone, their manifesto promise if you go deep into it, at least, using the methodology that I have explained we can count about 574 promises in just that document alone, you can count about 574 promises this is not surprising because in 2019 when we did ordinal assessment we counted almost about 512 promises so it is a pattern, because we do manifestos we have seen it before”.
“Most of the NPP manifesto is centered around the economy and that is mainly because of where we are as I did mention the economy is a bigger theme that covers the macroeconomy and other things like Job creation, agriculture, and others”, he added.
Dennis Asare further revealed, “There are more non-quantifiable promises than the ones that we can specifically say we know the service that they want to provide so with this there are more vague promises in that manifesto than there are quantifiable”.
