Former President and Presidential Candidate for the NDC, John Dramani Mahama has expressed that under his presidency, development shall become a right for and not a privilege for few, jabbing the partisan development journey of the Akufo-Addo government.
In his Facebook post, the former head of government, mentioned that, ater his tour of over 14 constituencies in the Central Region, he could not help but join the Chiefs and the people to condemn the neglect of their communities. He said petty partisan political reasons have left communities in the Central Region and some other regions under developed under this government of Akufo-Addo.
“After touring fourteen (14) constituencies in the Central Region so far, I cannot help but join the chiefs and people in condemning the neglect of our communities for petty partisan political reasons, as President Akufo-Addo himself has stated”, he wrote.
He expressed pains and bemoaned how communities are grappling with the neglect of crucial development projects vital for their growths and well-being. This he said will become a thing of the old when he returns to office in January, promising to make developments a right to all and not a privilege for a few selected people
“As I have done before when I was president and will lead this country to achieve again, development shall be a right for all, not a privilege for a few”, he added.
He further established that, his comments are not just a matter of politics but an issue of justice and accountability to the people. He stressed that, every citizen regardless of their political allegiance, deserves to have their voices heard and their needs addressed
