Sylvester Tetteh the deputy minister of Information and member of parliament for Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfro has been fingered in the demolition of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) staff bungalows in Weija.
According to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation Sylvester Tetteh led a team to carry out the demolition exercise despite hostilities.
In a Facebook post from the state broadcaster which reads, “The Management of GBC, with the help of the Ghana Police Service, this afternoon stopped the Deputy Minister of Information and MP for Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfro, Sylvester Tetteh, from continuing the illegal demolition of government buildings on GBC land at Weija”.
Meanwhile, Sylvester Tetteh has announced plans to investigate the allocation of lands belonging to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) to private individuals in the Akwasa area, where a recent demolition took place.
According to him, there was an existing agreement between the GA South Municipal Assembly and GBC to repurpose the disputed land for a public school. This led to the demolition, which he says was carried out by the Assembly.
Sylvester Tetteh further questioned GBC’s Director of Legal Affairs to provide proof that he demolished a different piece of land, rather than the one allocated to him for development.
