Organizers of the Democracy Hub have dismissed rumors circulating on social media that their lead convener, Ralph St. Williams, was poisoned.
In a statement, the organizers clarified that the renowned activist had suffered from natural food poisoning, which occurred after consuming a meal.
They confirmed that Ralph has since recovered and is back in Accra, urging the public to disregard the false reports suggesting foul play.
Ralph St. Williams, a vocal critic of government policies, was recently admitted to Keta Government Hospital for treatment following the food poisoning incident.
The rumors of poisoning came just weeks after his arrest for leading protests against policies he believes are detrimental to Ghana’s youth.
His detention sparked widespread public outrage, leading to his eventual release.
Democracy Hub reassured supporters that Ralph’s condition was not the result of any malicious action, and the claims circulating on social media should be ignored.
