Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) have served notice to begin a nationwide strike from Monday November 4 as a result of the long delay in the completion of a salary structure for the staff of the Civil Service and the Local Government Service.
According to CLOGSAG the proposed new salary structure approved by the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC), Ministry of Finance, and Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations is yet to be implemented after one and a half years since a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was reached.
It would be recalled that CLOGSAG, by an earlier letter dated 21st June 2024 indicated that its members would proceed on strike on July 2024.
As such, CLOGSAG said it has waited long enough and has no other option than to proceed on strike if the government fails to implement the new structure by the end of the month.
