The Ghana Health Service has confirmed cholera cases in 17 districts across four regions, with the Central Region recording the highest number.
A total of 116 cases have been confirmed from 1,600 suspected cases. Currently, 85 individuals are receiving treatment in hospitals, while 16 fatalities have been reported.
Speaking in an interview with 3news Deputy Director of Public Health in charge of Disease Surveillance at the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Denis Laryea reiterated the need for cases to be reported early to the health facilities while encouraging proper hygiene practices among the populace.

The GHS has been closely monitoring the situation, especially following an earlier outbreak in the Ada enclave.
This localized outbreak in the Ada East and Ada West districts of the Greater Accra Region has led to the deaths of two individuals and 43 confirmed cases.
Authorities have continued their efforts to control the spread, with a focus on early detection, contact tracing, and community health education.
Dr. Frank Bekoe, Director of Public Health at the GHS, explained the ongoing measures to manage the outbreak, emphasizing the importance of quick interventions.
“We are working hard to ensure that new cases are detected early and that contacts of infected individuals are closely monitored,” he said.
