Acting Gyaasehene of the Nkusukum Traditional Area in the Mfantseman Municipality, Eric Ato Appiah Mends, has been arrested for the shooting and killing of 52-year-old Kwesi Melchoir.

According to reports, the two were engaged in a scuffle which led to the Gyaasehene with stool name Nana Beeyin II, shooting and killing Kwesi Melchoir at a festival ground.
The Gyaasehene, 45 has been arrested and remanded in police custody after the incident.
Reports suggest a chieftaincy dispute may have been the cause of the disagreement b between the two which ended in this unfortunate shooting.
