The Chief Justice of Ghana, Gertrude Torkornoo and her husband have been fingered in an alleged state capture scandal.
Although it is yet to be confirmed if her husband is truly involved in this, many Ghanaians believe the man in the center of this scandal is the husband of the Chief Justice (CJ).
It is public knowledge that the Chief Justice is married to Francis Kofi Torkornoo, a pharmacist. However, it has not been confirmed if the Francis Kofi Torkornoo named here is one and the same with the CJs husband.
Francis Kofi Torkornoo is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Narcotic Control Board (NACOB) under Akufo-Addo led government. Putting one and two together, the husband of the CJ is a pharmacist by profession and it makes sense if he is made the CEO of NACOB.
Additionally, he serves on board of Economic and Organized Crimes Office (EOCO).
The question on the minds of many Ghanaians is if he is the husband of the CJ of this is just a coincidence of name.
If he truly is the CJ’s husband, then the Akufo-Addo led government has once again proven to Ghanaians it is one made up of family and friends.
