Independent Presidential Candidate and leader of the New Force, Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Cheddar, has officially announced Dr. Maryam Issaka Kriese as his running mate for the upcoming December 7 presidential election.
The announcement took place at a press conference in Kumasi, where Nana Bediako spoke highly of Dr. Maryam Issaka Kriese’s experience and qualifications, emphasizing her ability to help lead the country toward a prosperous future.
“As Senior Manager at the Securities & Exchange Commission, Ghana, she helped shape the nation’s financial landscape through strategic oversight of investments, licensing of capital market operators, and the development of critical regulations. Her role in training market operators and educating investors places her at the forefront of financial empowerment,” Bediako noted.
Dr. Maryam Issaka Kriese is an accomplished academic with a background in finance. She has taught at the University of Ghana Business School and the University of Professional Studies, Accra. She holds a PhD in Finance, an MBA, and advanced certifications in Islamic Finance and ERP software. Besides her academic and professional credentials, she is also a Muslim and a known advocate for women’s rights in Ghana.
The New Force party has been steadily gaining traction as an alternative to the traditional political landscape, particularly among voters disillusioned with the two leading political parties. Nana Bediako expressed confidence in Dr. Maryam’s abilities, stating, “Whether it’s reshaping policies, advancing financial education, or contributing to groundbreaking research, she stands as an indomitable force driving both Ghana and Africa toward financial inclusion and economic resilience.”
With their platform focusing on change, economic empowerment, and financial inclusion, Nana Bediako and Maryam Issaka Kriese hope to position themselves as a fresh option for Ghanaians seeking meaningful change. As the campaign progresses, they will continue touring the country, sharing their vision for a new direction for Ghana.
