Ghanaian singer Camidoh has apologized after facing criticism for stating that Nigerian women are more open-minded than Ghanaian women.
In an interview with Nana Ama McBrown on Onua Showtime, he expressed regret for his words and apologized to anyone who was offended by the comparison.
Camidoh, who recently appeared as a guest on the podcast show, ‘Rants, Bants and Confession’ stated that Nigerian women are more open-minded than their Ghanaian women.
“Nigerian women are more exposed to whatever. It’s easy for a Nigerian woman to understand certain things a Ghanaian woman will not understand…there are topic that you talk about and Ghanaian women will be like eeeiiii, but Nigerian women understand and they are abreast with whatever is happening in the world,” he said.
Following his comparison, the singer received widespread criticism on social media.
However when asked why he said that on Onua Showtime, he disclosed that it was not his intention to humiliate Ghanaian ladies and apologized for his comments.
“I wasn’t necessarily insulting Ghanaian women…if this is how it came across then I’m sorry because I love my people, I love my Ghanaian women and they are supportive…I correct myself, pardon me,” he apologised.
