Media personality Bridget Otoo has taken to her X (formerly Twitter) page to condemn the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) for its role in the controversial rice scandal, accusing the agency of being complicit in the issue.
Otoo expressed her frustration over the FDA’s failure to ensure food safety standards and protect the public.
“The fact that the FDA is complicit in this crime is telling! This is the organization that is supposed to ensure best practices and guarantee standards are being adhered to,” Otoo wrote.
“Instead, this government has turned it into another toothless, spineless, and unprofessional organization!”
Otoo’s post comes in the wake of allegations that the FDA authorized the extension of the expiry date for the Indian Moshosho rice and allowed its re-bagging without proper labeling.
