Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) executives have announced Roman Fada, also known as Kwabena Agyeman Appiah Kubi, as the party’s new presidential candidate following the passing of its founder, Akua Donkor.
Roman Fada Known in private life as Kwabena Agyeman Appiah-Kubi was previously chosen by Akua Donkor as her running mate for the 2024 elections. He is a well-known radio and T.V personality who prior to his selection as running mate, was the Station Manager of DL F.M. This announcement of his succession comes after the Electoral Commission’s L.I which gives ultimatum for the selection of a candidate after the death of the main Flag bearer.
In line with Akua Donkor’s wishes, the GFP executives selected Roman Fada to take over as the party’s flag bearer, fulfilling her request that her running mate should replace her in the event of her passing. Roman Fada has expressed his readiness to succeed Akua Donkor, confirming her passing during an interview.
In their announcement, the executives expressed belief in their newly chosen leader of having understudied their late founder and having the requisite knowledge of the Parties tradition and what it stands to achieve if they are voted into power
