According to an eyewitness who was in the market purchasing items at the time, the contractor typically informs the community before blasting, but no warning was given this time.

“Normally, they inform us before blasting, but today, we didn’t receive any warning,” she recounted.

The blast caused extensive damage to surrounding structures and vehicles, with reports indicating eight people lost their lives and several others injured.

The devastating scene left the community dull with many struggling to come to terms with the unexpected tragedy.

The incident has sparked concerns about the contractor’s adherence to safety protocols and the lack of communication with the community.

The Gomoa Buduburam community is still grappling with the aftermath, seeking answers and support for those affected by the disaster.

This incident serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of prioritizing safety and communication in construction projects.
