The Ghana Football Association has announced the appointment of Dr. Randy Abbey, a Media Personnel and Football Administrator to the Management committee.
The appointment of Dr. Randy Abbey follows the recent poor performance of the team after failing to qualify for the 2025 AFCON tournament. In a post after the teams thrashing by Niger, the GFA boss, wrote that, there will be some new arrangements within the Management team to ensure that all plans fall in place.
Asante Twum, the Communications Director of GFA explained that the decision is part of a review process following the team’s poor performance, including their early exit from the 2023 AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast—their second straight group-stage elimination.
He confirmed this in an interview with Asempa FM, saying, “Randy Abbey has joined the Black Stars Management Committee.” He added that the FA decided to keep Mark Addo and Akwesi Agyeman on the committee and bring in Randy Abbey.
Mark Addo remains the Chairman of the Management Committee, while Dr. Randy Abbey, who is also a GFA Executive Council member, continues to lead the Black Satellites Management Committee.
