Nana Boadi Amponim Obodade III, the Krontihene of Akyem Asuom has endorsed the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama ahead of the 2024 elections.
According to the Krontihene of Akyem Asuom, Dr. Bawumia told Ghanaians he had $18 billion for Ghana, and thought he was Ghanaian’s savior, but nothing happened.
Nana Boadi Amponim Obodade III communicated frustration at the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, accusing him of failing to deliver on key promises made to Ghanaians.
The Kronihene noted that Bawumia’s 2019 pledge to work with Saudi Arabia’s King Salman to establish a Medical University and 42 Senior High Schools in the Northern region, remains unfulfilled.
He added that the Vice President’s assurances of transformative initiatives, including a promised $18 billion investment, free kidney dialysis for National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) beneficiaries, and the construction of a medical city, have yet to happen.
He articulated disbelief about Bawumia’s capability to lead Ghana effectively as president, stating, “We can’t wait for a bad mate to take over from a bad driver.”
He added, “Akufo-Addo and Bawumia’s regime saw vast revenues, yet the nation is struggling economically, this is a call for change.”
“Bawumia was presented as an economic messiah, but he failed woefully, I will go for John Dramani Mahama”, he reiterated.
Meanwhile, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia announced that starting December 1, 2024, the government will provide free dialysis treatment for all kidney patients covered by the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) this tick out one of the promises mentioned by the Kronihene.
