Nana Aba Anamoah an ace broadcast Journalist has said the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s approach to illegal mining is more doable.
In a post on social media. Nana Aba noted that having listened to Dr. Bawumia’s solution to galamsey menace she hopes he will walk the talk when he is given the mandate by Ghanaians in the upcoming election.
Her post read, “I just listened to Dr. Bawumia’s remarks on galamsey. Glad he’s finally commented on the menace. His solution is the most practical one I’ve heard so far. I hope he walks the talk if he gets the mandate.”
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on a campaign tour revealed that he will set up a community mining scheme with certainty from the Geological Survey department which shows where gold can be found, and responsible mining can be done.
Meanwhile, in a press statement dated yesterday, October 9, 2024, President Akufo-Addo directed the Minister for Defense to deploy additional military forces to intensify the ongoing “Operation Halt”, which aims to curb illegal mining activities.
President Akufo-Addo expressed his commitment to end illegal mining and called on all Ghanaians to unite in the fight.
