Vice Presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), has assured small scale miners of their job security.
According to him, the flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has no plans of shooting small scale miners, or rendering them jobless.
Napo speaking at a rally in the Wassa area, considered a home for miners said, “The lies are over now. We willnot shoot anyone (miner) when we come to office, We will give them (miners) their excavators back for them to work, and get food to eat. Dr. Bawumia will not destroy small scale mining. We are against anyone using chanfans to mine. Everyone with a mining concession will work freely and make money.”
