Popular Nigerian Comedian and actor, Bright Okpocha, known by all as Basket Mouth, has criticized his colleagues who beg for money on stage during shows.
In an interview on the CreativiTea Live with Linda podcast, voiced his frustration with the begging habits of some colleagues in the entertainment industry, questioning their sanity and stating that it diminishes the value of their craft.
Speaking from experience he said, “I remember when one time during one of my shows one guy came on the stage to spray me money and I felt embarrassed”.
The comedian noted that it is the important for he and his industry mates to collaborate amongst themselves and also establish younger talents, highlighting the benefits of knowledge sharing and growth.
He urged his colleagues to work with younger generations, citing his willingness to share his platform and learn from them.
Basketmouth also shared how challenging it has been for him to gather funds for his upcoming movie, ‘A Ghetto Love Story’.
According to him, two sponsors pulled out, leaving him devastated but he was however able to manage and raise N300 million within 12 hours and looking out for more people to come support him.
