Deputy National Communication Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Malik Basintale has stirred the political landscape by challenging the flagbearer of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his running mate Matthew Opoku Prempeh to bring their children onto the campaign trail.
His comments come as the nation gears up for the upcoming elections in just 68 days.
During a recent campaign tour, Basintale showcased the sons of former President John Mahama,Sharaf and Shahid Mahama stating, “Mahama’s children don’t want any ministerial positions. If you have the courage, bring your children into the campaign grounds.”
Basintale’s remarks highlight a broader narrative in Ghanaian politics, where the involvement of family can be viewed as a sign of commitment to public service rather than personal ambition.
