Member of Parliament for Adansi-Asokwa, Kobina Tahir (K.T.) Hammond has reacted to the Speaker of Parliament’s decision to declare four seats vacant.
According to KT Hammond, Speaker Bagbin overstepped his authority after the matter was referred to the Supreme Court for interpretation.
He said, “The Constitution says anything that will come that needs interpretation is the job of the Supreme Court, the majority leader has taken all the documents to the Supreme Court, give the court some time to decide the issue, now you have called your NDC people, Ghanaians voted for an NPP majority, we came to sit in this building you say we are minority where have you heard that before.
“Bagin will bring matter into this country; he has brought some today”, KT Hammond reiterated.
KT Hammond asserted that they are all Lawyers, and they all have their various interpretations, which is why the decision was up to the Supreme Court.
He added, “The four MPs are saying, this parliament they are part of the NPP, the one we will be voting for in December that will be put in place in January 2025 they are not coming as NPP but independence that is all they are saying”.
