Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has called for a free, fair, and transparent general election in December, emphasizing that such conditions are crucial for Ghanaians to accept the election outcome.
He stated that transparency and trustworthiness are essential for political parties and citizens alike, ensuring the maintenance and sustainability of peace in the nation.
The Asante Monarch made these remarks during a visit from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) running mate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, who introduced herself at the Manhyia Palace today.
Otumfuo praised Prof. Naana Opoku Agyemang for her humility, respectfulness, and commendable work during her tenure as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast.
He urged her to continue exemplifying these qualities as she assists her leader, John Dramani Mahama, in communicating party policies to the electorate.

During a courtesy call at the palace, Asantehemaa Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III offered prayers for Prof. Naana Opoku Agyemang’s success in the upcoming elections, highlighting the potential for women’s empowerment that this election represents.
