A contributor to Asaaseradio.com, Richard Ababio, has taken a swipe at founder and leader of Glorious Word Power Ministry International, Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah.
The piece titled, “Why I stopped worshipping at Rev Owusu Bempah’s church” comes moments of Rev. Owusu-Bempah prayed for the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama and named him Ghana’s next president on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at a time with the clergy session organised by the NDC.
Every Ghanaian was surprised at Rev. Owusu-Bempah’s actions as he has been known to be a sympathiser of the ruling Akufo-Addo government for an extensive period of time.
Richard Ababio in his opinion piece so to speak claimed he was a staunch follower of Rev. Owusu-Bempah until the man of God started behaving like a hooligan.
According to him, Rev. Owusu-Bempah is only a bitter old man trying to get back at the Akufo-Addo led government and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for not doing his bidding.
Richie indicated that wrongdoings of Rev. Owusu-Bempah like attacking a woman with a gun is uncalled for, adding, “However, recently, as a man of God, his constant negative comments about certain personalities, especially the current Inspector General of Police, IGP, Dr. Dampare, and this government, have become excessive.
His remarks against the IGP, along with his calls for the president to remove him, seem misguided, particularly given that there are laws governing the appointment of high-profile officials in this country.
The question is, who is he to instruct the president to sack someone simply because he was not allowed to break the law?”
7He advised the man of God to clean up his act and set a good example for his congregation. This attack on Rev. Owusu-Bempah has raised many questions, with many people seeking to know if it is wrong to shift allegiance in a democratic dispensation.
