A fatal shooting occurred at a filling station in Dormabin, Krachi East Municipality, Oti Region, after armed robbers opened fire.
According to reports, Isaac Dampoki was purchasing fuel when the robbers stormed the premises, shooting him in the process.
The robbers are said to have made away with GH¢9,000, after they had begun shooting sporadically, hitting the victim in the process.
Mr. Israel Asiedu, a resident of Dormabin told the media that the victim was rushed to CHPS compound for treatment due to the severity of the injuries.
He said the victim was later referred to WoraWora Government Hospital, but sadly, succumbed to the injuries and was pronounced dead at Asukawkaw in the vehicle, while in transit to WoraWora Government Hospital.
The Dambai Police command has beefed up security and launched an investigation into the matter.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the Dormabin community, with many calling for increased security measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
