Ace investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni has revealed that Power Distribution Services (PDS) are in the court of arbitration in London demanding $330 million for the wrongful termination of its contract.
Manasseh stated there is yet another possible judgement debt on the horizon for Ghana.
In a social media post on X, the investigative Journalist said, “Ghana lost $190 million from the United States because the government cancelled the PDS concession. ECG is still struggling, but that’s not all. There is currently an arbitration in London as PDS is demanding $330 million for the wrongful termination of its contract”.
The Power Distribution Services (PDS) deal was a controversial deal that saw the Akufo-Addo Bawumia government award a 25-year concession to PDS to manage the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
The deal was signed in March 2019, but was terminated in July 2019 following allegations of fraud.
