Ama Governor, a lawyer and social media influencer has been arrested.
In a video posted on JoyNews social media platform on Instagram Ama Governor was seen being escorted to the courtroom, in handcuffs, when she was shouted out saying “these people are ridiculous, emancipate yourselves from mental slavery, that is what worrying you people”.
On Sunday, 22nd September, chaos broke out between Democracy Hub protesters and the Ghana Police Service during the second day of the protest leading to the arrest of about 42 protesters of the Democracy Hub.
In court Lawyers for the arrested protesters told the court they did not know why their clients have been arrested.
The demonstrators have been charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, specifically unlawful assembly.
