A netizen has blasted the immediate past Finance minister of Ghana Ken Ofori-Atta over his budget statement sloganeering.
Since 2017, Ken Ofori-Atta at each of his budget statement readings presented the budget with some very catchy slogans in the local Akan language Twi.
Ken Ofori Atta catchy budgets include, Asempa (Good News) Budget in 2017, Adwuma (Jobs) Budget in 2018, Mpuntuo (Development/Progress) Budget in 2019, Anidasuo (Hope) Budget in 2020, Nkosuo (Growth) & Nkabom (Togetherness) Budget in 2021, Agyenkwa (Redeemer) Budget in 2022 and finally the Nkunim (Victory) Budget in 2023.
The former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta on many occasions insisted that Ghana was not going for an IMF bailout stating Ghana is a proud nation and had the resources but ended up seeking a financial bailout after all.
According to the X user, Ken Ofori nonsense budget slogans are to blame for landing Ghana at the doorstep of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
His post read, “This guy started with Asempa Budget, Mpuntuo Budget, Adwuma Budget, Obaatanpa Budget, Asempapa Budget, Agyenkwa Budget. All these nonsense slogans are what landed us at the IMF. 🤡”
