Vice-president IMANI Africa, Bright Simons has revealed that the death of Akua Donkor the flagbearer of Ghana Freedom Party is not prompting analysis about who might scoop up the orphaned voters she left.
According to Bright Simons, the gossip of the death of one of the 13 presidential candidates instead of prompting analysis is rather speculating about whether positions on the ballot may change.
In a write on X, Bright Simons wrote, “All manner of strange things can stir up intrigue about Ghanaian elections. Gossip about the suspected death of one of the 13 presidential candidates is not prompting analysis about who might scoop up the “orphaned” voters”.
“Instead, some are speculating about whether positions on the ballot may change, thereby disrupting some campaign memes based on candidate positioning. Unlikely as that is given that ballot printing is said to have started already”, he added.
Meanwhile, according to reports Akua Donkor died at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital on Monday, October 28.
Details about her cause of death remain undisclosed.
