The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has claimed after all the difficulties, Ghana’s economy is begging to pick up.
According to President Akufo-Addo, the December 7 elections are consequential for the country’s history and the next generation.
Speaking during the inauguration of a newly constructed bridge in the Bantama Constituency of the Ashanti Region, Akufo-Addo stated, “In the last quarter of the year, the rate of growth of Ghana’s GDP was 6.9% double what it was when he was leaving office in 2016, this is after all the difficulties, and our economy is beginning to pick up”.
President Akufo-Addo further took jabs at former president Mahama, saying “One of the most consequential decisions the Ghanaians are going to make in this generation is the decision that is going to be made on the 7th of December, and we are being told by the senior citizens of this country to keep out of that matter we will not keep out of it, we will not keep out of it”.
“He is saying that in 2016 I came to power, I came to office by telling lies to the Ghanaian people, what are the lies I told, dumsor was my making, I lied about dumsor, did I lie about the 3.4% sluggish growth in Ghana. were all these lies created by Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo; all these were lies? They were hard facts”, he boldly stated.
President Akufo-Addo further emphasized, “Maybe he is trying to find a way to excuse himself for his abysmal failure in 2016, he should find another thing, another story to tell”.
His response came on the back of John Mahama’s call that the election is between him and Bawumia and therefore the President needs to stay out of it.
