An elder from Kwahu community in the Manhyia Palace has revealed that Afia Pokua deceived the Manhyia Chiefs about her true lineage not being a Kwahu.
Agoo TV journalist Afia Pokua and Mona Gucci appeared before the Manhyia Palace on Monday to issue a formal apology.
Afia Pokua claimed to be from Kwahu but through investigations it was revealed she was rather a Frafra and Krobo, her father hailing from Frafra community and mother a Krobo.
In an interview the elder said, “I also found out that she is not from Kwahu, but I wasn’t given the chance to speak during the meeting.” He shared that in his 29 years in Manhyia, he had never witnessed such an unusual and emotionally charged situation.
“Today took me by surprise. I have been in Manhyia for 29 years and have never seen anything like this.”
Afia Pokua apology was rejected by the Manhyia Chiefs, one Chief ordered, “We don’t need anything from this child over here. She should take her sins away”.
