Ghanaian based US social commentator, Kevin Taylor, says the leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin does not have what it takes to lead lead MPs in the House.
His comments come on the back of Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin suspending parliamentary sittings indefinitely following the MPs of NPP boycotting sitting today, October 22, 2024.
Their decision to boycott Parliament came after the Speaker of Parliament a few days ago declared 4 seats vacant, after MPs in these constituencies decided to go independent in the December 7, 2024 elections. This decision made the NPP which was the majority at the time the minority, with the NDC becoming the majority in parliament.
The NPP appealed the decision at the Supreme Court which put a stay on the Speakers decision.
“This is idiot totally unfit to lead the @nppghanahq now will he go back to the Supreme Court to force the speaker to open shop for government business? mmoaaaaa the last time I checked the NDC were still the majority nothing has changed,” Kevin Taylor’s post on X read.
