Policy analyst Benjamin Nsiah has said the NPP leadership in parliament, under Hon. Afenyo Markin and Hon. Annoh Dompreh, is arrogant and very bossy.

According to Benjamin Nsiah, the two leaders of the NPP caucus should have built a consensus with Haruna Iddrisu and Ato Forson, but because they thought they were good lawyers they ignored the signal given by Haruna Iddrisu.

Speaking on Kessben FM he said, “NPP Leadership in parliament under Afenyo Markin is not the best, he and Annoh Dompreh, I think are too bossy to engage their opponents, and they don’t build consensus”.

“Look at what is going on, it left with 50 days, Haruna Iddrisu gave a pronouncement earlier giving a signal that this is what they are going to do, as a leader who seeks to build consensus one month and some days left to elect you could have rushed to Haruna Iddrisu and Ato and speak to them and let them know what they are about to do will create a lot of distraction in terms of government business and parliamentary business”, he added.

Benjamin Nsiah further stated that the Members of parliament do not have time for this tussle as they are also campaigning to maintain their seats in Parliament.

He added, that “because they felt bossy, they think they are good lawyers than other lawyers they forgot them thinking nothing will happen, yesterday if you look at the posture of Afenyo Markin he was even trying to challenge the Speaker, but he knows nothing. Bagbin became a lawyer before you, Bagbin became a member of parliament before you, a very long-term member of parliament even in terms of age Bagbin is older than him”.

Meanwhile the Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin on 22 October 2024 adjourned parliamentary proceedings indefinitely, citing the lack of a quorum as the reason for halting the session and briefly mentioned that he had received a communication from the Supreme Court.
