An Accra High court is scheduled to later today October 7,2024 hear the case between the Flagbearer of People’s National Congress (PNC), Bernard Monarh, and the Electoral Commission over his disqualification from 2024 presidential race.
Mr Monarh was disqualified by the EC for violating electoral rule by using registered voters from one district to support nominations in other districts.
However, he contends that his disqualification was unlawful and has filed a suit at the Accra High Court, dated September 24, 2024.
In his application, Bernard Monarh has requested the court to quash the EC’s decision, reinstate him in the race, and prevent the printing of ballot papers until his candidacy is restored. Chairman of the PNC Sampson Asaki Awingobit revealed this development with YawaNews
