Social Media users, have been going hard at Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
They believe the country’s President successfully deceived the entire nation to elect him into office.
In recent times, most Ghanaians have taken a step back to reflect on some promises made by then candidate Akufo-Addo which convinced them to vote him to office. These promises have however not been fulfilled by his administration with members of the ruling government being engaged in a number of illegalities President Akufo-Addo pledged to root out.
President Akufo-Addo pledged to bring an end to the menace of illegal mining and even put his presidency on the line. Almost 8 years now, the president has been unable to achieve this pledged, and has also ‘cleared’’ members of his administration who have been accused of being involved in the illegality.
Also, acts of corruption and bribery were expected to be a thing of the past in the Akufo-Addo led administration, but several corruption scandals have rocked the presidency, with Akufo-Addo moving presidential staffers who have been accused of corruption to different offices and in some cases elevating them.
These and many instances have led Ghanaians to lose faith in President Akufo-Addo, hence the “scammer” tag.
Over the weekend, the President attended the Ghana Journalists Awards night and was confronted by the President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) for his seeming inaction against illegal mining. After his address, President Akufo-Addo was seen in a video to be supposedly reprimanding him (GJA President) as he (Akufo-Addo) was displeased with his speech.
This also earned him the anger issues tag.
