The leader and founder of Action Chapel International, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, has quizzed the  Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, why he is spreading lies against him.

Duncan-Williams emphasised that Abronye dared to lie and say that he gathered 25 bishops, gave them $10,000 each to pray for President Mahama to go for another term.

According to Duncan-Williams, he can pray by himself if that is what he believes in.

He further went on to invoke a series of curses on Abronye.

Speaking to his congregants in a viral video shared on X,  Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams stated, “Who do you think you are? You are just a beginner. How long have you lived? Let their defences depart from them, let what is meant to be an advantage unto them become a disadvantage. Let their honour turn into a dishonour and let their favours turn into a disfavour.

Let their access turn into a scandal, let the table that favours them become a smear against them, let their defences depart, let them be disinherited by another”.

He added, “Don’t ask me who has offended me; nobody has offended me, I have just been watching over the years, and I go on the internet, social media, people lie.

Somebody has the audacity to lie and say that I gathered 25 bishops, gave them $10,000 each to pray for President Mahama to go another term. You think I am a kid?

Go another term for what, the constitution does not allow that, and if that is what I believe, I don’t have to gather 25 bishops and give them money to pray, I can pray myself, and if that is what I believe, I can come out publicly and say it”.

Duncan-Williams boldly added, “I am not afraid of you, I am not afraid of you and your party, if I believe that I will come out and I will say it, and I am entitled to my beliefs. But that is not what I believe, and that is not what he believes, so why are you setting me up?

Why are you spreading lies? And there are people for whom other reasons, they don’t even think, will believe”.

Meanwhile, the New Patriotic Party has officially dissociated itself from the comments made by their Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, commonly known as Abronye DC, against Archbishop Duncan-Williams on Ohia TV.

On June 30, 2025, the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Justin Frimpong Kodua, condemned remarks made by Abronye DC and distanced the NPP from his remarks.

The NPP statement read, “The attention of the National Secretariat of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been drawn to public commentary made by the Bono Regional Chairman of the Party, Mr. Kwame Baffoe, alias Abronye DC, in which he made some unfortunate and unprovoked remarks about the internationally revered Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams during a recent media engagement.

“The party unequivocally distance itself from those comments, and emphasises that they do not reflect the party’s values, beliefs, or official position. The New Patriotic Party holds religious leadership in high regard and recognises the immense contributions of Archbishop Duncan-Williams and the broader religious community to national development, peace, and moral guidance,” portions of the statement read.

The statement added, “While the NPP, as a democratic and inclusive political tradition, upholds the freedom of expression of its members, we also expect such freedom to be exercised with utmost responsibility, respect, and decorum, especially when addressing revered leaders of faith whose influence transcends partisan boundaries”.

“We urge the general public, especially the Christian community, to treat Mr Baffoe’s personal views as entirely his own and not attributable to the New Patriotic Party.”

It concluded, “The party remains committed to fostering respectful engagement across all sectors of Ghanaian society and will continue to work in partnership with religious institutions for the collective advancement of our country.”
