According to Richard Asare Baffour, the legal team would file an appeal at the earliest opportunity, which is on Monday.

Speaking on Citi Eyewitness News, Agradaa’s lawyer stated, “The good thing is that this judgment is delivered by the Circuit Court. So the appellate court—we will file the necessary processes early Monday morning. We are going to do that early Monday morning”

“We were not expecting this at all but in summary, the judgment delivered by the court today is nothing but a travesty of justice”.

He added, “We say so not because the decision did not go our way. We say so because we are deeply concerned about the reasoning of the court.”

Agradaa was sentenced by Her Honour Evelyn Asamoah of Circuit Court 10 to 15 years in prison.

She was sentenced for two counts of defrauding by false pretences. Agradaa was also fined GH¢300 for one count of charlatanic advertisement, with a 30-day custodial sentence in default of payment.

Reports suggest the charges stem from a televised advertisement she aired in 2022.

In the ad, Agradaa claimed she possessed the power to double the money for her congregants at the Godsway International Heaven Church, misleading them into surrendering their money during an all-night church service at her Weija-based ministry in Accra.

Nana Agradaa was earlier taken to the hospital for a pregnancy test before the Judge sentences her.

She has since been sentenced to jail for 15 years with hard labour.

The Judge, Evelyn Asamoah, stated that Agradaa skilfully executed the offences and did not show remorse.

In recent news, Agradaa was among the clergy who graced the National Day of Prayer and stated she was deeply moved by both the message of the event and her interaction with the President.

Speaking to the media after the event, Agradaa stated, “I’m really excited to be here, especially because I got to see the President in person. What he has done is beautiful.

It shows he has a vision for the country and cares about where Ghana is heading. I even had the chance to hug him today, and honestly, even if I don’t make it to heaven, I feel fulfilled,” she said.
