Prof Ransford Gyampo, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA), has said he was among the people who chased President John Mahama out of office in 2016.
Prof Gyampo revealed that they chased John Mahama out of office in the hope that former President Akufo-Addo was going to be Ghana’s messiah.
According to Prof Gyampo, he is an avowed critic of President Mahama, and there is documentary proof.
Speaking on Channel One TV’s The Point of View, Prof Gyampo stated, “In the lead-up to the 2016 elections. We were the ones who chased him [President Mahama] out.
I was an avowed critic of President Mahama. I think you are a fair-minded Ghanaian and a fair-minded stakeholder in Ghana’s media landscape, so if I tell you that I was among the loudest critics of President Mahama in the lead-up to the 2016 elections, you will know, and there is documentary proof. The internet doesn’t forget,” he stated.
“We chased him out of office in the hope that former President Akufo-Addo was going to be the messiah,” he added.
Also, Prof Ransford Gyampo, in another interview, revealed that President John Mahama called him to serve the nation on three or four occasions.
Prof Gyampo detailed that this was not the first time President John Dramani Mahama had called on him to serve the nation.
According to Prof Gyampo, he received invitations from President Mahama on different occasions to contest as an MP in Mfantseman during the 2016 elections.
Also, in the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election in 2019.
He revealed that John Mahama has called on him to serve the country on three occasions.
Prof Gyampo established that he accepted the third invitation because he believes there are certain duties he can fulfil as a citizen to help the country progress.
Speaking in an interview on Adom FM, Prof Gyampo stated, “Mahama first made an offer to me in the lead-up to the 2016 Election. They wanted me to contest for the parliamentary seat in my hometown, Saltpond — the Mfantseman seat — but I felt the time wasn’t right.
“Also, for the Ayawaso West Wuogon election, when Kwabena Kyeremateng Agyarko died, I was at the University of Bristol as a visiting scholar. Leaders called me several times, but I was okay with where I was.”
He added, “So, this could be the third or the fourth time he (Mahama) has called on me.”
Also, Professor Gyampo, after he was appointed as acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO)of Ghana Shippers Authority, boldly stated that one is a nation wrecker if one refuses to serve the nation.
According to Professor Gyampo, it is unpatriotic to refuse the opportunity to serve the nation.
