Suspect Bright Aweh Roberts, the suspect involved in the kidnapping and murder of Immigration Officer Stephen King Amoah, made his second appearance at the Kwabenya Circuit Court today.
The case, which was initially treated as a kidnapping, has now been reclassified as murder, leading to its transfer to a higher court for prosecution.
Suspect Bright Aweh Roberts was taken back into custody amidst chants from visibly irate family and loved ones of the deceased person.
In the viral video, irate family members were heard saying, “You are wicked, you are a foolish person, God will punish you”.
The burnt body of Stephen King Amoah, a Ghana Immigration Service officer, who was reported missing under mysterious circumstances since Thursday, July 3, 2025, was found at Abuom Junction near Kwabenya in the Greater Accra region.
According to reports, the family complained to the Taifa Police on July 4, 2025, after several attempts to reach him.
Amoah left home that evening, Thursday, July 3, after receiving a call from a friend who allegedly owed him GHS200,000.
His brother, Akwasi Amoako, has confirmed that Nana Kofi’s body has been found dead.
According to reports, his neck was slashed, his body was burned, and he was then wrapped in a woollen carpet.
His body has since been deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary after being identified by his relatives.
Meanwhile, the family of Stephen King Amoah is demanding justice.
According to the family, all they demand now is justice for their deceased relative.
