Paul Adom-Otchere, the former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), has broken his silence on the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) orders for him to present himself for questioning.
According to Paul Adom Otchere, his invitation for questioning by the OSP is a targeted act of witch-hunting.
He boldly asserted that the corruption probe into a revenue assurance audit deal is purely a management issue and not a Board Chairman’s issue.
Speaking in an interview on Joy FM on July 30, 2025, Adom-Otchere said, “My initial reaction would be that there’s a witch-hunt.
I just hope that I’m wrong because the issues that are being investigated are purely management issues. It’s not really a Board Chairman issue”.
His comments come on the back of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) ordering the former Ghana Airports Company Limited Board Chair, Paul Adom-Otchere, to present himself for questioning.
According to reports, the OPS has invited Paul Adom Otchere in over a corruption probe into a revenue assurance audit deal.
On July 25, 2025, an official letter named Adom-Otchere as a suspect in its probe.
The probe has to do with an alleged corruption and corruption-related offences arising from a contract between GACL and a private firm.
The OSP has asked Adom Otchere to appear before the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, at the OSP headquarters in Accra today, July 31, 2025.
The information gathered suggests Adom Otchere has confirmed receipt of the letter; however, he requested an adjournment of the meeting to Monday, August 4, 2025.
It will be recalled that Paul Adom Otchere, the host of Metro TV‘s ‘Good Evening Ghana’ political show some months ago, claimed that the Special aide to President John Mahama, Joyce Bawah, is pushing for his arrest.
He alleged that Joyce Bawa is pushing the Director of Special Operations at the National Security, Richard Jakpa, to arrest him.
According to him, the Mahama-led NDC government are going through the files of the Ghana Airport Company Limited to get some dirt on him.
He alleged that the Mahama administration, since coming into office, has been fishing through the files of the Ghana Airport Company Limited for dirt.
Adom Otchere boldly stated he was certain no dirt would be found, as he didn’t engage in any wrongdoing when he was the Board Chairman of Ghana Airports Company Limited.
The veteran broadcaster stated, “There is a conversation between Joyce Bawa Mogtari and Richard Jakpa which we have heard, and Joyce Bawa Mogtari was asking Richard Jakpa that ‘when are you going to arrest Paul Adom Otchere, and he is talking plenty?’, and he said, ‘as for Paul, we will get him, but wait, we have to go to Addison, then we have Okatakyie before we go to Paul Adom Otchere”.
According to Adom Otchere, Richard Jakpa has a vendetta against the former Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame and himself because whilst Dame was handling Jakpa’s Ambulance case, he (Paul Adom) was the media man backing it with commentaries on exposing Jakpa’s involvement in the purchase of those sub-standard ambulances for the state at a whopping cost of €2.37million.
He further revealed that he and the others have been advised not to sleep in their houses.
“I was told that, Friday night, don’t sleep in your house because they will come to your house Saturday morning, and then they will say 48 hours, so they will keep you till Monday; and so all of us have been told Richard Jakpa is coming, don’t sleep in your house,” he disclosed.
Adom Otchere later mentioned his house address at a location in the Teshie-Nungua Estates and added that he has nowhere to go and sleep, so Jakpa and his people can come when they wish, as he has nothing to hide.
